Biography

Lenia Hauser (1989 in Germany) is a German-Swiss painter who lives and works in Halle (Saale). After studying in Düsseldorf and Halle, she worked for several years as an illustrator until she decided to paint in large and abstract format. Parallel to her work as an artist, she lectures at the Art College Burg Giebichenstein.

Hauser's paintings show her interest in geographic structures and the ground beneath our feet. The coming together of drifting amorphous forms and overlying planes evokes irregularly worked footpaths and streets, jagged landscapes of lava and moss, jigsaw puzzles of micro and macro recordings.
