Biography
florence Libotte, (1975) is a Belgian artist. Libotte lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. She graduated in painting in 1998, and gained an agrégation in visual arts in 2005, both at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts ARBA, in Brussels. Since 2002, florence Libotte has exhibited in numerous exhibitions across Belgium and now her artwork is shown for the first time in Germany.
Originally coming from painting, Libotte’s work is now part of the field of drawing, with the lightness of its material (mainly paper, from different sources), its fragility and the mobility of its exploration. “I could say the guideline of my work is to experiment things as in a tree structure, allowing the unexpected that inhabits me to find its form. And from this work process, the different possibilities of the drawings combinations, depending on the moment and place, will also be an evolving associative part of the work that will make sense, for the viewer and for me”
